TF5.3 — AURA artifact repository¶
Task Force 5.3 aims to develop an artifact inventory for perfusion imaging, including ASL, DCE, DSC and IVIM. With this inventory, we aim to streamline terminology and educate researcher and clinicians. Terminology on perfusion MRI artifacts, especially perfusion MRI artefacts, is used inconsistently and often unclear. Additionally, researchers and clinicians using perfusion imaging artifacts often don't know how to recognise data of low quality and artifacts in their perfusion images.
With AURA, we aim to provide a clear dictionary of perfusion artifacts, including: - Artifact name and alternative names used in literature - Artifact description to recognise the artifact on your perfusion images - Description anc causes of the artifact, to understand how the artifact ended up in your data - Remedies to try to solve the occurance of the artifacts... if possible - Potential usefullness of the artifacts, because sometimes, an artifact has a story to tell - Image examples for each artifact, with examples from different vendors and sequences
This inventory of perfusion artifacts will be developed for ASL, DCE, DSC and IVIM and published in a peer-reviewed journal. Additionally, the inventory will be provided as resource via the OSIPI website. And as icing on the cake, an online, searchable inventory will be available providing examples of these perfusion artifacts, allowing contributions from the perfusion community.
